We had a little detour on our road trip to the in-laws house for Christmas this year. Once we were packed and had the truck loaded and were on the road, we heard how bad the driving conditions were. We kept going until we heard that they shut the road completely. Luckily, we were just passing through a small town and were able to find a pet friendly hotel with a few rooms available. So we got to spend the night in the Best Western. There weren't any restaurants open so we went to Circle-K for dinner! It snowed all through the night; we woke up to several inches of new fallen snow. They had re-opened the road and we were on our way. We passed many cars that had slid into the median and were buried in snow. Lots of crunched cars along the road side as well. We got to Albuquerque in time for a delicious turkey dinner cooked by Mom Lane. We enjoyed a few days with the family (including Kevin's sister and her family) and then headed back to Phoenix.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip. I forgot my Canon G10 so these are mostly iPhone photos. I didn't get too many pictures. Click HERE for more pictures.
