Kevin and I were originally supposed to go on a hot air balloon ride on our honeymoon, but our wedding took place just 4 days after 9/11 and all hot air balloons were grounded at the time, so our ride was canceled. 11 years later and we still hadn't taken that balloon ride. Kevin decided to book a hot air balloon ride for us for our 2012 Christmas date, but it turned out to be rainy that day, so sadly there was no lift off that day either. We finally got to take our balloon ride on January 5th 2013!
Our pilot took us to about 7,000 feet above sea level. I was very scared at first, staying in the center of the basket, hanging on to the basket for dear life. About halfway through the ride, I suddenly felt fine and was able to enjoy the ride and even look over the edge of the basket. I really loved it, it was very peaceful and quiet. You could see for miles and miles.
I'm ready to go again! I want to go on a ride at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, I think that would make for some really cool pictures.
